'Twas The Week Before Thanksgiving!!

Twas the week before Thanksgiving and that phone started ringing

My nephew talmbout some vegan girl he was bringing to the dinner next week.

Oh Lawd, Oh Lawd, I started to freak!!

What the world I’m sposed to make for that child to eat?

Then I thought for a minute bout some food I saw online,

Thank God cause I thought I was gonna lose my mind.

She’s a plant powered cook and her food is really good, so I ran to the store in my neighborhood with her recipes and shopping list.

If you need to cook something for some unexpected guests who ain’t gon eat nothing unless it’s made from some plants, download the following file and get to cookin’ chile,  they’ll be thanking you for a really long while.

It’s got everything you need and links for you to watch, just in case you’re a little nervous and don’t wanna botch……up allodat food.

Now I’ll let my nephew know that his girl is covered and make sure the rest of the family don’t make her feel all smothered.

And watch them around her food…..cause they’d eat hers and theirs if they could.

So many of us have been waiting eagerly to indulge ourselves with foods that are familiar and fabulous to our tastebuds this holiday season!!!  The era of COVID has worn on us and we are ready for Holiday Celebrations.  However, if you are health conscious for physical, medical or spiritual reasons, you can undo all of your yearly accomplishments in about 6 weeks of feasting at holiday gatherings.  So, here are some tips to help you enjoy the feasts without sabotaging your health!!

  1. Plan ahead....offer to bring a dish that you know you can eat AND/OR make sure to have healthier (tasty) options for your guests who may have diet restrictions.

  2. Use healthier ingredients in your traditional recipes - less sugar, less fat and more fiber.

  3. Eat before you go to the party so you won’t be so hungry.

  4. Decide to maintain weight rather than focus on weight loss.

  5. Get your sleep.

  6. Do not stop exercising....even if it’s only a stroll.

  7. Stay away from foods containing alcohol, vinegar and caffeine....all affect the central nervous system and can be dehydrating.

Here’s the link again that’s full of great ideas if you are eating more healthfully or are having guests that need healthier options.   https://www.lifestyletherapeutix.com/s/Cookin-Up-Good-Health-Holiday-Recipes.pdf
